"This is the last piece of candy. Sister, let me feed it to you. After you finish it, we'll go buy more."
My sister tore open the wrapper and placed it in my mouth.
Neither of us noticed the speeding car heading our way. The bright light was so blinding that I hadn't even tasted the sweetness of the candy yet.
Suddenly, everything around plunged into darkness.
"Have I lost her again?" I asked myself.
I didn't want to wake up. I knew I was still alive. So, after waking up, there are two possible outcomes: either my sister is alive or she's dead. Being a vegetable might not be that bad...
No! I'll fight for even the slightest chance of seeing my sister alive. No matter what the cost, perhaps I'll hear about her death... but I'll also choose to wake up.
—Suddenly, I opened my eyes in the hospital room. I turned my head and saw my sister smiling at me from the next bed.
